|
|
After I upgraded my system to SMS-1.6.6 on my i686 machine. my DHCPD server stops working. In fact it is no longer starting on boot and manually starting it after I login to the system is not making it run either.
" /etc/rc.d/rc.dhcpd start
Starting dhcpd: /usr/sbin/dhcpd -q eth1
root@mars:~# /etc/rc.d/rc.dhcpd status
dhcpd is not running! "
I checked my /var/log/messages but there is no entry related to dhcpd there. I reinstall the package with no difference at all.
Please assist in getting dhcpd running again on and after system boot. If there is any else you need from me please let me know. |

information about dhcpd is at /var/log/syslog.
Just do a
tail -100 /var/log/syslog
after starting
/etc/rc.d/rc.dhcpd start
Are you sure you /etc/dhcpd.conf has no errors?

Thanks so much it is resolved.
I had issues in my dhcpd.conf file
Output of syslog shows
"Jun 24 11:38:29 mars dhcpd: /etc/dhcpd.conf line 55: semicolon expected.
Jun 24 11:38:29 mars dhcpd: option routers 192.168.10.100 192.
Jun 24 11:38:29 mars dhcpd: Configuration file errors encountered -- exiting"
So restoring dhcpd.conf file from a backup version I had fixed the issue.
Again thanks so much. |
