Does anyone interested in seeing VoIP in SMS? I do. I think to have this feather would attract more people to use it.

Just a suggestion. Any comment? |

VOIP would be nice but I know Gerasimos is trying to keep the size down. Asterisk is not that hard to install. You might want to try it yourself.

There is a distro called cytrun linux that is slackware based and similiar to sms. Not as well done as SMS but you could use it as a learning tool of how they implemented it in slackware. |

Well, I have a lot of work with SMS.Native.CD and little time, I'll put it to my TODO list though to check it along with IDS.

				Done!

i make an asterisk 1.6.1 package for working with SMS , if gerasimo_h have time to put it on the SMS repository or on the web server of sms , it will be nice , else i can give an ftp adress to download it but it's on my home sms server and i have a low bandwitch so i do not want to give the adress here!

My sample package have 3 sip/IAX2 phones , 1 sip only phone , 2 SIP provider 1 for incomming call( ippi.fr) and 1 for outgoing call (voipbuster)

voicemail , echo test , it's basic but it 's a good starting point i think

i'm working now with FXO cards to use real phone lines

so thanks again for SMS

Are these for the asterisk server I am trying to add-on?

I tried to install the asterisk add-on in webmin. Is this how it is done or do I need to go to a command prompt? What is the command and syntax I need to use?

Thanks. |

These packages are for supporting .txz packages, you must have an SMS version prior to 1.4.3, that's why you got the error

"Failed to install package : Not a valid Slackware Package Manager file"

				That's weird.

Do you have a clean install of SMS-1.4.4 or an upgrade to it?

Try this.

mkdir tmp

cd tmp

tar xJvf ../asterisk-1.6.1-i486-1sms.txz

makepkg -l y -c n ../asterisk-1.6.1-i486-1sms.tgz

installpkg ../asterisk-1.6.1-i486-1sms.tgz

If you still have errors during the unpack you will need to upgrade those 3 packages above.
