I tried to install the system regarding the PDF and the videos, but without success Crying or Very sad

I used the newest ISO(SMS.Native.CD-1.6.3-Install.iso)
On mkinitrd, I altered from 2.6.36.7 to 2.6.39.4 as there is only the newer kernal avaiable. No errors by running lilo afterwards, so I asume that should be correct.

But when I tried to restart the system, I get the following msg/errors:

/boot/initrd.gz: Loading kernal modules from initrd image:
No volume groups found
mount: mounting /dev/sms/root on /mnt failed: No such file or directory
ERRO: No /sbin/init found on rootdev (or not mounted). Trouble ahead.
You can try to fix it. Type 'exit' when things are done.

/bin/sh cant access tty; job control turned off

I tried to install the system twice and mean Ive doublechecked your wiki/pdf/video.

But Im too newbie to find my fault.
Could you give me a hint, at what step Im leaving the yellowbrick road?

in the mkinitrd line you should add the kernel you choose upon installation.
There are 3 kernels
2.6.39.4-smp (default)
2.6.39.4
2.6.39.4-7
so your mkinitrd line should be
mkinitrd -c -k 2.6.39.4-smp
unless you choose a different kernel.

What kernel did you choose?
What is your hardware?
You might need to add your controller module in initrd.gz.

Hallo gerasimos_h,

thank you for your support.

In deed, Im lost my diskcontroller after lilo read the kernel.
I didnt recognized that the default kernel by booting the installdisk is the huge kernel, so I didnĀ“t thought about using huge kernel for installation.

I tried two machines, one physical with SCSI drive, the secound one is a vmware virtual machine (scsi drive will be default, when selecting 2.6 linux kernel).

Thx for your support.
