I may be paranoid but I find it odd that while using slapt-get I have not had any updates in several months
I use
slapt-get --update
slapt-get --upgrade
It returns as their is nothing to upda ... |

I'm back up and running... Made some really bad choices at the command line, mainly slackpkg clean-system.

ifconfig -a shows eth0 wired and eth1 wireless. eth0 has a 169.*.* ip. no connection to my typical 10.0.0.* network.
modprobe b44 simply returns me to a prompt.

/etc/rc.d/rc.ddclient start
