I've just tried installing 2.0.8 on two different HP microservers (both gen 8 - the 2.2 GHz Turion based machines). In both instances, the USB keyboard is not recognised when the boot reaches the "select a keyboard map" stage.

Prior to that, there is a long wait while udev starts, followed by an error (sorry, didn't catch it in time), then the system goes to the keyboard selection stage.

This seems to be quite specific to the microserver - I tried the same thing on a small form factor Packard Bell machine (using the same USB keyboard) and had no problems.

Earlier versions (2.0.5 and earlier) installed without problems to the HPs, but the later ones all fail with the keyboard not being detected.

Paul.

I'll look at it, but a quick workaround is to either create a new iso with 2.0.5 kernels, or boot with 2.0.5 CD and 2.0.8 in a flash drive and choose "Install from a USB installer" at source selection, normally it will recognize the fat32 formated drive and install packages from there...

Thanks. I'll try the second option. Be interesting to see if the problem persists after the install. I've got a microserver which isn't doing much at the moment, so I can use it as a test case.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Paul.
