Initially it was returning all of this until I reinstalled heimdal...
Code: | Starting Samba: /usr/sbin/smbd -D
/usr/sbin/smbd: error while loading shared libraries: libgssapi.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/usr/sbin/nmbd -D
/usr/sbin/nmbd: error while loading shared libraries: libgssapi.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory |
No it is only this. I really cannot for the life of me figure out or find how to solve this.
Code: | Starting Samba: /usr/sbin/smbd -D
/usr/sbin/smbd: error while loading shared libraries: libavahi-client.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/usr/sbin/nmbd -D
|
I also reinstalled cyrus-sasl just in case. |

You upgrade to latest samba packages, meaning you need to install dependencies such as heimdal which you correctly install already and avahi which is missing.
Code: | slapt-get -u
slapt-get -i libdaemon avahi |
You should run an fsck though if you have weird file system behavior like missing or corrupted files.
Just boot from Native.CD or LiveCD and unmount disk in case of LiveCD and run 'fsck /dev/sdX' where X is your disk.
