I am trying to install a couple of apps that require some additional pear packages. When I type 'pear install --alldeps -f <package>' I get an error message. Sometimes it says not valid package, even though I have verified that it is a current and valid package.

The second error message I get is that it says I need Pear Installer 1.6.0.

Any suggestions on how to trouble shoot this?

thanks

ps: thanks for the additional addons

SMS has Pear Installer 1.6.1 bundled with PHP 5.2.4. Latest is 1.6.2.
You can upgrade to 1.6.2 with
pear upgrade --alldeps PEAR
Have you install development packages from slackware/d dvd installation?
What packages you want to install?

thanks so much for the reply.

[Have you install development packages from slackware/d dvd installation? /]

Are they on the sms native disk? If so, I did a full install. If not, do you mean I need to download slackware os?

thanks again for the pear info? Everything is going along really well at the moment. Just exploring and trying to become familiar with everything.

You have really done a nice job!

thanks

Development Packages are on Slackware OS DVD, don't forget that SMS underneath it's Slackware...
I 'll upload an add-on with the development packages, cause many will need it, and I 'll upload rest of the develoment packages for SMS.Native but there will be available only on site, because I don'tt want to exceed 700MB (1CD) for SMS.Native.CD.

All Packages Uploaded...
For SMS.Native download and install packages with
upgradepkg --install-new *.tgz
For LiveCD just put devel.packages.lzm in folder modules and rebuild iso.
If you have at least 1GB of memory you can compile in LiveCD mode and save
later on disk..
