Firstly you DON'T need PAM to do this in SMS, since we don't use PAM for authentication.
If you realy want to use PAM you need to change your auth method by installing
SMS-1.5.4 has pam headers under /usr/include/pam from v1.5.5 I restore them in /usr/include/security for not having missing headers issue.
Just copy dir "cp -a /usr/include/pam /usr/include/security" or specify include dir in configure for pam_mysql.
