I've just downloaded and installed SMS 1.5.3 and I'm very impressed. I'd like to install the Webmin+Virtualmin add-on from the download page but webmin doen't want to install it and gives a message that its "Not a valid module file : tar: This does not look like a tar archive tar:".
This is no doubt me in idiot mode. What am I doing wrong? |

Thanks for that.
I've installed usermin from the extras cd.
I've downloaded and installed virtualmin from webmin and started the configuration check [first I did need to add 127.0.0.1 to the list of DNS servers] and it stopped as below.
BIND DNS server is installed, and the system is configured to use it.
Detected mail server Postfix.
Mail server Postfix is installed and configured.
Suexec is enabled in the default template, but the Apache module mod_suexec is not installed or not enabled.
.. your system is not ready for use by Virtualmin.
I'm still an idiot and have no idea what to do now.
Any suggestions please. |

Edit /etc/httpd/httpd.conf and uncomment,
#LoadModule suexec_module lib/httpd/modules/mod_suexec.so
and restart apache with
"/etc/rc,d/rc.httpd restart"

Tried that.
Now.
BIND DNS server is installed, and the system is configured to use it.
Mail server Postfix is installed and configured.
The Suexec command on your system is configured to only run scripts under /srv/httpd/htdocs, but the Virtualmin base directory is /home. CGI and PHP scripts run as domain owners will not be executed.
.. your system is not ready for use by Virtualmin. |

Edit default settings and set to "No"
Automatically add appropriate SuExec directive?
