I can ping router and all internal connections but I cannot ping anything external from server.
Externally, my dns probe says no errors on dns but server cannot ping externally. My router is able to ping external sites - so I know the firewall and router are working.
Any ideas. I just hate to be down!
thanks
BTW, I am sure this is unrelated, but server was rebooted after upgrade to 1.5.1 due to power outage.

I don't see problems on your dns, from my side of view, have edited hosts file or something?
Power outage occurred after upgrade or in the middle of upgrading, was in run level 1 or 3?
Also your /etc/resolv.conf has the nameservers?
Can I take an internal view?

my dns is definitely working. But I am unable to connect from server externally. Not sure how that works?
Upgrade took place at init3. I lost power two days after upgrade. Everything appears to be working other than I cannot connect externally from server.
/etc/resolv.conf has the nameserver.
For you to take internal view I will have to change some security settings. Will send you an email.
