hmm i wanted to configured rtorrent manually but i cannot see the config file anyware

do i need to add user to create config file in home ?

also rtorrent not starting with server, i need to start it manually but i have it in rc.local

rtorrent runs as user administrator, with /home/administrator/.rtorrent.rc and handles /home/administrator/.wtorrent_users file
user: admin
pass: admin
Default download directory /var/smb/samba
but you can change those the first time you access http://sms:81/install.php or any time unless you delete it (install.php).
Check if rtorrent is running 'ps aux | grep rtorrent'
Rtorrent starts with /etc/rc.d/rc.rtorrent which starts and stops lighttpd also.
When you access http://server:81 do you get an error after login?

everything works fine, rtorrent works ok and seems to starting ok but i cannot find his files (i wanted to turn on watch directory and others)

my home/administrator is empty

also rc.vncserver is not working from rc.local, i need to start it like this

/./etc/rc.d/rc.vncserver start

from console everytime i get reboot system

i can provide you my files just tell which are interesting for you

Filenames and folders starting with a dot (.) in unix they are hidden files.
Just do a 'ls -lsa /home/administrator/' from bash and you will see them or enable hidden files on konqueror.

Do you get an error? look at the logs under /root/.vnc/

Install gcc-4.3.3 from devel series or extract 'cpp' from package to /usr/bin/.
and post the results.

i dont have any *torrent* file or directory inside root, even with dot

By default SMS has the config under /home/administrator/ if you don't have them there, then I couldn't know where might have been.
Try search them with 'find / -name .rtorrent.rc'.

ok i must admit that this is beyond my knowledge and probably i will never understand that

after i manage problem with harddrive i discovered that i cannot longer connect to rtorrent

also still i need to run rtorrent and vnc from console because autostart from rc.local not working

can you post somewhere .rtorrent.rc ? i think i broke smth

It was a similar error.
To get the .rtorrent.rc make a dir
'mkdir pkg'
'cd pkg'
mount the cdrom and extract the package
'tar -xJvf /mnt/cdrom/extra/packages/rtorrent+wtorrent/rtorrent-0.8.5-i486-1sms.txz'
You will have your configs under pkg/home/administrator.

Have you try '/etc/rc.d/rc.rtorrent restart' do you get any errors?
what the logs say about that, under /var/log/lighttpd/ (error, rtorrent)
if you just type 'rtorrent' as root does it worked?
The web interface it's something else, if the webgui not working try removing lighttpd, clean the htdocs directory and install the lighttpd package again and configure your wtorrent from install.php.

As for tightvnc check /var/log/syslog,messages for errors during boot, regarding vncservers.

ok i need to start checking 1 by one everything

i will tell you step by step what i'm doing and config files

i start PC with rc.local like this :

./etc/rc.d/rc.bootsplash
/./etc/rc.d/rc.vncservers start
/./etc/rc.d/rc.rtorrent start

then i check mediaserver:81 and have "wtorrent cannot connect to rtorent"
but it shows wtorrent so lightpd is running

next i go to putty and change user to administrator
su administrator

then i run rtorrent with
rtorrent

it starts with few torrents so i try from web browser mediaserver:81 again and wtorrent see the rtorrent and those few torrents are on www as well as on putty

why it is not working from rc.local after reboot ?

ok i try everything but i cannot solve the problem

but in the end it is working properly after i launch it manually

now i need to add remote over inet feature

i enabled in ddclient

password=yyyy

and in section dyndns dynamic i enabled and setuped
server=members.dyndns.org
protocol=dyndns2
mymediaservername.dyndns.org

is it enough ? in dyndns.org page i create account xxxx pass=yyyy and setuped
