|
|
A general question. The title says almost everything.
Apart from the:
root (by default, is there any other user allowed to remotely access the system?)
webmin
torrentflux
webftp
ftpuser
.htaccess in the http root
is there any other pw that should be changed before putting the whole thing online?
Thanks,
Max |

Hi,
Change root password for login. When you login to webmin: admin/admin, go to webmin tab and select admin user and change password from 'admin' to something else.
In webmin, you can give user permission to login remotely. Also, you can change the port from '10000' to something else for additional security.
also, I do not use the web page 'index' that is provided because it needs all the passwords changed. I created my own so it had the security preferences I wanted.
hope this helps.

Also you must change 'administrator' user's password.
You must set a password for mysql root user.
Disable things you wouldn't use e.g. weberp torrentflux e.t.c.
Manage SSH users and rsa keys for SSH login...
