When installing native cd, I get message:
kernel panic - not syncing
I've always gotten this message when installing native cd. Usually, if I delete partitions and recreate in cfdisk then it will work. However, I never get that message if I install live cd to hd.
I just tried to install cd and got the message again.

That's because they boot with different kernels. Either one you install (live or native) it's the same.
As long as LiveCD is installed then you have Native version.
