The banner that comes up on booting is off to one side on all my monitors. I would like to delete it but can not find /boot/initrd.splash.

Could you tell me where to remove the banner?

thanks

Which kernel?
If you are talking about SMS.Native.CD it's a boot logo, you can't remove it during boot, unless it's boot, so do a clear on bash.
What do you mean "off to one side"?

It is native cd. The SMS banner is off to the left my screen on the top part. I've tried adjusting the resolution but nothing makes any difference. But I really want to have a solid green color for my bootsplash.

So, if I'm understanding you correctly, I can not remove or change the banner? I really don't understand what you are saying about clear on bash.

thanks

OK, That's the place where it should be (the logo).
It's a classic linux kernel boot logo, by kernel's default it's a small penguin.
It's not bootsplash.
If you want to create a bootsplash, upgrade the kernel with one of those in /extra/kernels/bootsplash/ so you have a bootsplash patched kernel.

Just login at prompt and type 'clear'.
