				| Hello people! I have a strange trouble with samba. On my Gb Network, i get only 55mbs of real speed between my SMS and a Windows XP box. On the same hardware but only under Windows Server i get about 80-95mbs.
Maybe i must config something manualy?

				| Hi...
What do you use to measure the speed?
 I would recommend robocopy.
You can try to add under [global]

  	  | Code: | | socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_KEEPALIVE IPTOS_LOWDELAY read raw = yes
 write raw = yes

				| Thanks for the fast Answer! I use Total Commander or TerraCopy. Both programms are good and show same speed. At same time i look to the Network status of Windows, it show max 15% of usage.
The commands don“t changed anything. Maybe i must config something on the network?

				| after many hours of research, i founded the speedleck. It was the Networkcard. You can mark the topic as solved.

				| Well that's an issue indeed, but I thought you said "on the same hardware under windows". I came across this many times over SMB
Low cost TP link RT8169 I get 22MB/s
Marvell 88E8001 speeds up to 55MB/s
And comparing SMS with a Dual G5 MacOSX 10.5.4 server I get 32MB/s

Technically low cost ethernet adapters supports 1000Mbps Half dublex mode only.

Of course other issues that may cause low traffic are slow HDD try
hdparm -Tt /dev/yourdisk] on your server.
 Low CPU and Low RAM

I'm glad you solved it thought

				| i think Windows Server optimize the network connection or work with better/newer drivers. | |

				| I had never had that issue, but I'm not prohibit about it. You can check and compare nfs speed over smb to check if it is a nic driver problem.
