|
|
Been running SMS for years and love it! Just upgraded to the newest version (totally fresh install). I can get to the webmin page on port 10000 to manage it. I cannot get to the default SMS web page that usually comes up (the page with the puppy and the login for webmin, etc.)
Any advice?
Thanks, |

It appears that apache is not running and will not start...can't get it started. I'm sure that I'm overlooking something obvious |

For those having a similar issue...IT IS <SOLVED>
I could not start the apache services because there was a DNS name mismatch. Even though I was accessing the website via IP,
I had to go into the Network settings and make sure that the DNS name was set properly. I had only the FQDN in the Host name settings. I had to add the hostname (without the domain suffix)
Hope that helps anyone else having the same problem |

I have the same problem and I had put that on the back-burner, but since I see it here, thought to have a look at it.
When I go into Network Settings it says:
Your Platform is Not Supported.
I Choose Slackware 12.2.0 but then it shows eth0 as disabled
(And eth0 is fine since I can access webmin and ssh etc. from my other PC)
So webmin works fine too, but on SMS, after logging in via either localhost as well as the IP, I get:
An error occured while loading https:// etc /session_logon.cgi
The process for the https:// etc protocol died unexpectedly.
Any tips?
TIA |

KDE/Konqueror is too old, that's why the errors..
KDE is for doing some manipulations to files or whatever may help you, not intended to use it as a dektop PC...
I had done some tests and be meaning to release a modern XFCE version but many things kept me back, it's on my toDO list...
You can access server webmin from client PC on same network...
