Dear gerasimos_h
Short background: It's the SMS-2.0.7-i486 on a fit2pc I inherited from my friend in january. I know he configured it for use with some CSS and ERP systems that I do not want to keep, but not destroy, and it is very hard for me to localize which files he has changed (he, unlike me) had done no backups of the configuration and other files he had changed.
With basic/default directory content I just mean as the come after a fresh installation.
I hoped I could solve it through expanding the installation iso, but failed. -My second hope was a full Slackware14.0-64 installation I have got; Just to find that that is not 1/3 as competent in server features as your S*M*S.
One option is of course to reinstall 2.0.7, or the current 2.0.8, but hesitate to do that. Partly because I'm not a skilled server administrator, and partly because I do not want to destroy my friends configurations. -I hope to slowly try to learn from them.
I know you sometimes keep compressed VM-images (*.ova) of different versions of SMS, you once provided me wih one. (SMS-1.6.0 when I wanted to try a "sandbox" upgrade of OpenSSL). I tried searching along the path you gave me for 1.6.0 and found 2.0.6 and 2.0.8 ova's. But not 2.0.7.
-Now, if I want to copy out the directories /etc/httpd, /etc/php and /var/www from one of the two which one of them is most similar to the same directories in 2.0.7? I know that the content in those directories very seldom changes between the versions?
In 2.0.7 /var/www/htdocs I've got webERP4.11.3, in /var/www/program lightsquid-1.8, phpMyAdmin-4.0.5-all-languages, phpldapadmin-1.2.3, squirrelmail-1.4.22, tflux and webERP4.10.1
Best regards

Hello,
for start the more simple thing is to rename /var/www/htdocs to /var/www/htdocs_old and place from SMS 2.0.8 or 2.0.6 or 2.0.7, it doesn't matter, the default folder /var/www/htdocs and restart apache...
You can do the same for /etc/httpd...

Thank you!!
I got no mail about your reply, so I'm sorry I didn't notice till now.
I understand you so that the directories I asked about are alike in SMS- 2.0.6-2.0.8?
Best regards!
Lars
PS. Last spring you suggested me to use tightvnc to get around a problem that my poulsbo graphics didn't leave any v refresh rate. -Now I've ran in to a vnc problem. Can I ask you about that though it is out of line in this forum? -I've spent quite a few hours net searching but have not found anything similar?
If you say it's OK, I suggest using the thread with your tightvnc suggestion. DS. |
