An additional question about the SMS-2.0.7 server I got as legacy after my friend:

A bit ashamed that I do not remember from my own installation 2011, but anyway:
In his server I wonder about a few users, if they are preconfigured with SMS and if they are essential for the function of the server. These users are:
ftp with home directory in /home/ftp (empty in his server)
vmail and dovecot No home directory; Both perhaps related to dovecot?
administrator with home directory in /home/administrator (empty in his server)
administrator is perhaps essential to openldap and vsftpd?

I've no intention to change the vmail or dovecot users, but am considering deleting the home directories of ftp and administrator since I've never used them (for vsftpd I use another setup with ftpadmin as administrator).
If I delete the directories of administrator and ftp I should perhaps keep those two users?

the only user you should concern is administrator as by default, is at sudoers and also got the emails for root (aliases)...

No need to remove directory or user, you can disable shell access and/or change password of course..
You should also alias another user to got root's mails.

Also administrator user is used for wtorrent, kmotion, it's not that it ain't work with other users, ut with administrator packages are ready out of the box, but if you are not going to use them, it doesn't make any difference...
