Probably a stupid question, but I've only repaired RAID setup on SANs or Windows systems, never on a Linux box. I have Dell server with the drive array configured via hardware. Is there anything that I should know before putting in a replacement drive into my server running SMS? Or because it is a hardware RAID, I can just insert the drive and wait for the rebuild to occur?

Either hardware or software, just replace you bad drive and rebuild will be initiate automatically...
You can see details/progress for software raid with
Code: | mdadm -D /dev/md{yourarray] |
For some hardware (fake raids) might need to login to raid console upon boot and initiate the rebuild...
