				| Hi
I've tried to boot SMS 2.0.3 Live and Native on Xen Server as a virtual machine.
(512MB RAM and 8.0 GB HDD)

Depending on which version and which options and also the VM configuration (1 vCPU or 2 vCPUs, etc.) it fails in different places.

 1 vCPU - Native (with and without hugesmp.s root=/dev/sda1 rdinit= ro)
Unable to request _OSC control (_OSC support mask: 0x1e)

 2 vCPU - Native
 Fails with a Call Trace

 2 vCPU - Native (with hugesmp.s root=/dev/sda1 rdinit= ro)
 Fails with a Stack error

Is there a way to capture the error messages for better review? Or has anyone installed SMS as a VM on Xen Server?

 Thanks!

 -N.

				| Hi Nabu,
I don't run SMS on Xen. I do run it on KVM and it does quite well. One of the issues I had early on that prevented me from having a successful install was the IO driver I selected. I chose virtio but slackware does not initialize that on install. Don't know if you did the same thing are not. If so, on linuxquestions.org you can search slackware section and there is short howto on how to properly enable them.

Hopefully, someone else who uses xen can help. Hang in there and if you can post error logs it would help. You're host server should be showing something in 'syslog' file.

				| Sorry for the late respond, I don't know about xen, but might be an issue that "Paravirtualized Guest Support" is not build on SMS kernels.
Next release will have virtio_scsci module in installer though, if you wanna try.

If I get a change I'll try to test a XEN server and might add a kernel with Paravirtualized Guest Support for XEN and KVM.
