I continue doing my crazy experiments on system)). My qualification is higher than common user, but very less than Linux administrator)), thus I have some questions accumulated, part of them may be bit off-topic of SMS server and links to hardware or other application programs ))
- I’m going to try use CF-card with CF/SATA adapter instead of HDD as “SSD”. What are recommendations to extend life of it, as we know it has limited write cycles. I have 2Gb ram installed and want it as r/w buffer. Some forum posts or else done on my site on SMS I want to be accumulated in RAM and then flushed to CF, for example, once per hour. Which directories are most often written to by the system? By the way, where does MySQL store my forum database?
-How can I easily backup all my adjusted system in order to restore it quickly? I’ve read about remastersys, or is it only for Debian?
-Where can I get suitable Transmission with web interface for torrent downloading?
Thank you) |

It is easy to say try Rtorrent for such user as I am)))
# slapt-get -i rtorrent
something installed as I see....
# rtorrent
Error loading shared libraries libtorrent.so.14 Cannot open shared object
# slapt-get -i libtorrent.so.14
No such package libtorrent.so.14
Or I'm doing something wrong?
How then get access to it web interface? Which port, 9091? |
