I tryed to install native sms cd to 40G hard disk drive, but it wasn´t possible. Before installing I did 4 partitions using slack 12.2 dvd and used fdisk programm. Formated it in a ext 3 and had a primary partition /boot (10g) , a logical swap partition (512M) and a rest space disk was /home. Then in installer process I saw during 10 seconds a beautiful light blue screen in an automatic choose process. Unfortunately occured that the keyboard didn´t change options and linux started scripts and stoped in a Kernel Panic message. What should I do?

If the installer stopped during install, try to burn the iso in slower speed, also your cdrom might need replacement.
If you use a CD-RW medium, burn to a CD-R, you can also choose to install from network,if your CD-ROM causing you errors.

Not from internet, from samba or NFS.
You need to share installation medium from samba or nfs, and choose it when ask you to choose the source.
It's a bit more complicated, if you have never done it before.

I didn´t understand about samba or nfs installation. I will try another speed at cdrecorder and burn another medium so I am already using a normal CD-R. Are there an explanation about samba/network install in this portal?

To install via samba you will need at least two machines.

Extract the contents of SMS.Native.CD-1.5.2-Install.iso to a directory on a windows machine and choose sharing and security and share this directory.

Start installation on the other machine, choose your swap & target partitions.
When setup ask you to choose source of installation media, choose samba setup, probe your network card, and enter the IP of your window machine which shares SMS installation.
Continue setup and install SMS.

Read README_LVM.TXT on SMS.Native.CD-1.5.2-Install.iso also available at
http://sms.it-ccs.com/isos/SMS-Current/README_LVM.TXT

What goes for slackware goes for SMS too.

Thanks... Very clarified is it!!! Then I understand that / and swap partition on lvm format is a trouble yet. Then I will try an ext4 filesystem in these partitions and has only home on lvm format. What do you think?

You can use root and swap on LVM too, just follow the guide.
I'm not using LVM though, I prefer physical volumes myself.

1) I'm using a 40g hdd, AMD atlon 64-3000Mhz and 512ddr Ram. Is it important to have a partioned hard disk before installing sms?

2)I 'm downloading a native_install.iso and intending to install it and after that add a .tgz programm to system. Is it possible to do it using a slackpkg tool ( installpkg xxx.tgz)?

Partitioning must already exist before running setup.
You can look for a small guide at http://sms.it-ccs.com/wiki/

You .tgz app must be compatible with slackware 13.1 or else you may have dependencies problems, or you might also need to install additional packages from slackware.

I`m having another problem. SMS_native_cd_install didn´t identify my sata hdd. Then I try to format and to do it in a / (15G), swap (512M), var (5G) and rest in home partition using fdisk in slackware 12.2 dvd. Unfortunatelly SMS_native didn´t permit to setup too. What can I do so it´ a perfect media and download was correct?
