Are you sure you run netconfig-lcd and not netconfig?
netconfig-lcd reads your current hostname domain and alter it.
netconfig is for setup only and changes sms.org to your hostname.domain.

yes, it was netconfig-lcd. I found .org appended to .com in postfix and named.conf. |

The script reads
"hostname" and "hostname -d" and do the changes, might .org already existed on those confs, and so if your "hostname -d" was .net and you alter it to .com script will use sed command to change .net to .com, but if the conf has .org then won't do anything.
