|
|
I did a slapt-get --dist-upgrade. I saw no error messages. I rebooted server and now it says it does not recognize the port number. I then changed the port back to '10000' and got the admin page.
Two things.
1. How come you lose assigned port on upgrade?
2. Also password changed from my setting to 'admin'.
Is there a way to prevent this?

also passwords for databases and configs for virtualmin are now gone. Do all upgrades have this problem? |

Only webmin upgrades since they remove old configs from /etc/webmin.
I'll add to install script a line to prevent that, and preserve configuration.
Also if you have virtualmin don't upgrade the webmin package, since SMS package doesn't have virtualmin, upgrade it from webmin upgrade.
