Hi,

yes gerasimos_h, that was easy to make fstab do the work.
Only I had to give writing permissions to samba share to access the USB hdd from witjin my Home LAN.

If you want to backup your windows PCs to SMS, use samba to share folders and there are dozens of programs to do the syncing.
You can even use xcopy or robocopy from within windows shell, to synchron ...

just wonder whether and how I can use SMS as a centralized backup station (sort of a NAS).

rsync?

is it possible to work it in a mixed LAN (SMS and Windows pc)? how?

(mount points cannot have blank spaces in their name...)

Setup you password with "vncpassword", and edit
/etc/rc.d/rc.vncservers.conf
with your users like
VNCSERVERS="10:root"
And use /etc/rc.d/rc.vncservers to start at boot

I already did a 'chown -R apache:apache /var/www/htdocs/tflux' thinking that it was no harm.

Nothing changed after that though.

Most likely you changed permissions for all tflux folder,do a
chown -R apache:apache /var/www/htdocs/tflux
